2 rushed to hospital after Friday night spill in rural southern

Two people were trapped by a vehicle on Friday night after it crashed into a ditch near Bank Street and Rideau Road in rural southern Ottawa.

Ottawa fire crews were first alerted to the rollover at 9:25 p.m. and, upon arrival, found one person trapped in the vehicle and one trapped below, according to a late-night press release.

In less than 15 minutes, the two people were released.

Ottawa paramedics said a man in his 20s was rushed to hospital with injuries to his leg, hip and head. A woman in her 40s was also transported with similar injuries.

Both were in stable conditions.
