Abandoned Husky finds new home in war-torn Donetsk region, officials say

Police in Ukraine’s Donetsk region have found a new home for an abandoned dog amid ongoing strikes in the region, images released on Thursday (May 26) show. Video released by Ukraine’s National Police shows a five-year-old husky named Katie being cared for by local officials. According to details in the Facebook post, she was found in an emaciated state and “screaming sadly” in Marinka, a town in central Donetsk, as authorities were distributing humanitarian aid to residents. She was taken in by the “loving” family of a police officer, officials said. Credit: National Police of Ukraine via Storyful
