President Joe Biden’s approval rating continues to plummet as he enters the second year of his presidency, as a plurality of voters say he has handled China’s coronavirus ‘worse’ than the former President Donald Trump, according to a Redfield & Wilton Strategies survey released this week. .
The survey found that Biden’s job approval has continued to decline over the past month. A plurality, 44%, disapprove of Biden’s professional performance, while 39% approve. That’s down two points from the 41% who approved of his job performance in Redfield & Wilton Strategies’ December survey. Of these, 32% “strongly” disapprove of his performance at work, compared to 14% who “strongly” approve:

The survey also asked respondents to rate how much they approved or disapproved of the Biden administration’s handling of key issues — from the coronavirus pandemic to the economy.
The results were, in part, as follows:
Coronavirus pandemic: 41% approve, 40% disapprove
The economy: 35% approve, 44% disapprove
Health care: 33% approve, 37% disapprove
The environment: 36% approve, 33% disapprove
Crime/Police: 31% approve, 40% disapprove
Immigration: 30% approve, 44% disapprove
Relations with China: 30% approve, 38% disapprove
Moreover, the investigation revealed that “pluralities of respondents think Joe Biden has handled the economy (46%), immigration (44%), national security and defense (41%) and foreign policy (41%) worse than Donald Trump.
“In contrast, a plurality of 40% finds that Biden has managed the environment better than its predecessor, while Americans are split on whether Biden has handled the pandemic worse (40%) or better (39%) than Trump“, he added.
The survey was conducted on January 8 and 9, 2022 among 1,500 American voters.
