It comes as Mallorca imposed tough new regulations on British holidaymakers – limiting to just six free all-inclusive drinks a day to end anti-social behaviour.
The regulations, announced by the Balearic government in January, also prohibit the sale of alcohol in shops between 9:30 p.m. and 8 a.m., as well as pub crawls, two-for-one drink deals and happy hours at certain locations in Magaluf. , El Arenal and Playa de Palma in Majorca and Sant Antoni de Portmany in Ibiza.
The laws aim to clean up the image of resorts like Magaluf after a scandal in 2014 when a British holidaymaker was filmed performing sex acts on 24 men.
The incident led Mallorca’s top politician at the time – Jose Ramon Bauza – to call Magaluf’s famous party strip, Punta Ballena, ‘500 meters of shame’.
