California governor tests positive for COVID-19

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KTXL) — Governor Gavin Newsom announced Saturday morning that he had tested positive for COVID-19 and was exhibiting mild symptoms.

He said he was “grateful” to have been vaccinated and to have access to treatments like Paxlovid on Twitter.

“I follow health guidelines and will self-isolate while working remotely,” Newsom wrote in a tweet.

He ended the tweet by wishing everyone a “safe and healthy Memorial Day weekend.”
