Climate change brings weather records for tornadoes and snowfall in December

A December of severe storms and record snowfall put a final exclamation mark on a wild weather year that was 2021 in the United States

The month produced the two largest tornado outbreaks of the year and the highest number of tornadoes on record for December. And there have been twice as many severe weather reports issued as in December since the National Weather Service started tracking 21 years ago.
