Djokovic ‘had a VALID MEDICAL EXEMPTION’, court decision will be FINAL, Australian Open draw

Defeat or Djokovictory tonight

Novak Djokovic’s appeal against his expulsion is scheduled for tonight at 10:30 p.m.

The unvaccinated defending champion will lose his chance to win a record-breaking 21st Grand Slam at the Australian Open if the federal court rules against him.

The case is being heard on Sunday morning Australian time and we may have to wait until the same day here for the outcome.

Australians have largely spoken out against allowing the Serbian legend to enter, accusing him of trying to ignore the rules or not reading the room.

But some pundits and fans slammed his second visa denial as a political move.

Former Oz Prime Minister Kevin Rudd told The New Daily: “The government’s public tussle over whether to deport Djokovic is a national and international embarrassment.

“It suggests to the world that we are not a country of laws, administered by an impartial and predictable legal system, but rather a kind of modern banana republic where decisions are made by politicians according to their personal whims.”

Meanwhile, Djokovic has been assured that he can play at Roland Garros in May even if he is not vaccinated.
