Erika Jayne Has ‘Empathy’ for Tom Girardi’s Alleged Victims Despite ‘RHOBH’ Explosion

Erika Jayne clarifies her outburst on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” in which she told co-star Crystal Kung Minkoff that she’s “not making fun of anyone but me.”

The 50-year-old reality star insisted she had “empathy” for her ex Tom Girardi’s alleged embezzlement victims.

“Of course I have empathy for them,” Jayne told Page Six. “I had empathy for them then, and I have empathy for them now. And I hope they’re taken care of.”

Girardi is accused of embezzling millions of settlement funds meant for families, including widows and orphans, who lost loved ones in the 2018 Lion Air Flight 610 crash.

The news came a month after Jayne filed for divorce from the 82-year-old disbarred attorney in November 2020 after 21 years of marriage.

The “XXPEN$IVE” singer has since faced various questions and scrutiny from fans and cast members about her knowledge of Girardi’s alleged wrongdoing.

“Listen, I want to be very clear here: I fully cooperated with everything,” Jayne told the outlet. “Despite what is in the blogs or tweets or anything on social media, please understand that I have fully cooperated.”

In the extended teaser for “RHOBH” Season 12, Jayne and Kung Minkoff argued over the former’s legal issues.

“You want to be on the side of the victims because you think it’s cool!” Jayne told her co-star. “I don’t care about anyone but me!” »

This isn’t the first time Jayne has opened up about her tension with Kung Minkoff.

While promoting the upcoming season of ‘RHOBH,’ she told Us Weekly on Tuesday, “There’s this outpouring of, ‘Why don’t you act this way, Erika? Why aren’t you being compassionate? Why don’t you have empathy?’ And the truth is I am. I’m also under a lot of legal pressure. I walked to the line. I fight with one hand tied behind my back. .

The Bravo star claimed she shared “pretty much” about the case she could on screen, but felt no one was listening – something she found frustrating.

Jayne was dismissed from the Girardi embezzlement and fraud trial in January.

However, his legal battle continues after the law firm Edelson PC filed another lawsuit in April alleging that Jayne, his company EJ Global and the law firm Girardi & Keese and its lenders committed several crimes, including the racketeering, receipt of stolen goods, complicity. Concealment of Stolen Goods, Illegal Business Practice and Consumer Legal Remedies Act and Deception.

“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. EDT on Bravo.
