Former Kamala Harris spokesperson Symone Sanders to host MSNBC and Peacock shows

MSNBC has hired Symone Sanders, former spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris and former assistant to President Biden, to host shows on the cable network and its Peacock streaming service.

Sanders tweeted about the Monday morning announcement, in connection with the MSNBC statement.

“Well, I guess I have some news to share this morning. I am delighted to join @MSNBC and @The choice! I look forward to working with some of the most talented and amazing people in the world, ”she wrote.

“There is a lot to learn, but I’m ready to get down to business! Sanders, 32, continued.

The network said she would host a Washington, DC-based show on the weekends and appear on Peacock’s “The Choice from MSNBC.”

“Sanders will bring his expertise, fiery rhetoric and political acumen to MSNBC’s multiplatform channels. Its program will explore issues at the intersection of politics, culture and race and explain how decisions made in Washington impact electorates, industries and communities across the country, ”MSNBC said in the press release.

“She will also interview lawmakers and policy makers, senior government officials, academics and opinion leaders,” he said.

Sanders, from Nebraska, announced in December that she would step down as Harris’ chief spokesperson, which came amid speculation that staff were leaving the White House due to a rift between Harris and Biden.

Prior to joining Biden’s presidential campaign, Sanders worked as a press secretary for Senator Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign.

She also worked as a commentator on CNN and wrote a book called “No, Shut Up: Speaking Truth to Power and Reclaiming America in 2020”.
