Hannah Dodd will replace Ruby Stokes in the third season of “Bridgerton”, taking the place of Francesca, the third youngest member of the Bridgerton family. Stokes only appeared onscreen a few times in the role, but is leaving the show to star in the Netflix show “Lockwood & Co.”
Pinning their Francesca was a challenge for the “Bridgerton” team. “I love Francesca, but we lost her in the middle of season two,” “Bridgerton” creator and showrunner Chris Van Dusen told TVLine in March of Stokes’ departure. “After exhausting all other options, she unfortunately had to exit for reasons beyond our control.” Francesca’s redesign signals that her character will hopefully get more screen time in future seasons. In Julia Quinn’s “Bridgerton” series, Francesca has her own book, called “Why He Was Wicked”, which is the sixth installment in the series.
Dodd certainly has an interesting character to delve into, especially if she gets to star in her own season. Francesca is “a bit of a mystery within her chatty, outgoing family,” reads a description posted by the series. “Despite her reserved nature, she gets along when it comes to company business, fortified with a dry wit and a pragmatism that baffles the fickle but seems to command attention when she least wants it.” Dodd who will take on the role is also a relative mystery – at least for now. Read on to know more about her.
