The conference discussed raising awareness of child and adolescent mental health, targeting community leaders and parents, and those who care for children and adolescents, psychological changes in adolescents and identifying relationships, in addition to the impact of excessive Internet use on the brain, as part of the General Secretariat for Mental Health’s plan to provide psychological support services in governorates that suffer from a lack of mental health services. Mental Health.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the conference included numerous lectures and workshops on symptoms and psychological disorders in children and adolescents, with the participation of specialized teachers. from various Egyptian universities, in addition to training mental health doctors and specializations related to the diagnosis of psychological symptoms in children and adolescents, and how to treat and manage them.
Abdel Ghaffar stressed that the political leadership pays great attention to the mental health file of children and adolescents, and works to develop the skills of mental health care providers.
During the conference, Dr. Manen Abdel Maksoud, Secretary General of the Mental Health Secretariat at the Ministry of Health and Population, announced the availability of specialized medical services in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry. , through more than 80,000 annual consultations, through hospitals and centers affiliated to the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Drug Addiction at the governorate level.
The opening of the conference was attended by Dr. Ismail, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health of the Red Sea Governorate, and Major General Osama Al-Bayh, President of Hurghada City Council.
