Homicide police called in Surrey over an unreported fatal shooting

Early indications are that the man was killed in a shootout, but the shooting went unreported until the victim was found on Sunday evening.

Homicide investigators have been called after a man was found dead in a Surrey home on Sunday.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, Surrey RCMP were called to the 13500 block of 84th Avenue. Officers who arrived at the house found a man inside who had died.

The investigation was then assigned to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team. The first indications are that the man was killed in a shooting but that the shooting was not reported until the victim was found Sunday evening at the house located at 13563 84 Ave.

The area was then cordoned off for a while and 84th Avenue was closed in both directions between King George Boulevard and 135A Street as police searched the scene for evidence.
