KANYE West has admitted punching a fan who wanted an autograph during a huge fight earlier this week.
Kanye, 44, said he was outside the Soho Warehouse in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, at 3 a.m. when he was allegedly provoked by Justin Poplawski, 40, who West said had been following for days for an autograph.
“I’m like, ‘You don’t know what I’m dealing with right now,'” West told Entertainment Tonight, referencing footage of him smashing Poplawski.
“I just finished these two songs, I’m from the studio, and this guy, he just had this real attitude, like, ‘What are you gonna do? And you see that?
“I’m just going to tell you, this Covid blue mask doesn’t stop this knockout, you know what I’m saying?”
The rapper, also known as Ye, said he was angry at the time with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, who is currently dating Pete Davidson, and a cousin who didn’t tell Kardashian that he wanted to visit one of their children at school.
“Security is not going to come between me and my children. And my kids won’t be on TikTok without my permission,” Kanye said.

West also admitted he was upset about Kardashian’s romance with Davidson.
“How are you going to blame me for acting and kissing the guy you’re dating right in front of me. Everyone says ‘that’s cool’ and I hear the new boyfriend is in the house where I don’t can’t even go.
“It comes from the horse’s mouth. I told you before, you guys are not suited to be in charge of my story,” West told Entertainment Tonight’s Jason Lee.
“I already told you, I’m taking my story. I write my story. Why don’t you all go do something, you know what I mean, other than try to bring somebody down.
Additionally, West claimed that Poplawski was not a fan but someone trying to make money selling autographs he got from the rapper on Jan. 10.
‘NOT A FAN’
West said: “It’s the same as the paparazzi, it’s not a fan. It’s someone who uses your image, who has probably never listened to your songs.
The alleged victim Poplawski, 40, originally from St Louis, Missouri but now living in Illinois, was pictured earlier in the night behind Kanye and his new flame Julia Fox.
This celebrity enthusiast has been collecting autographs for over 25 years.
He’s taken dozens of selfies with celebrities and A-listers over the years, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Taylor Swift, Barack Obama and Adele.
Poplawski told The Sun: “I don’t really have a comment at the moment, not yet. I still have other things to sort out. Right now I’m just trying to live my life and get back in. my house.
His profile on the Real Autograph Collectors Club website indicates that collecting celebrity autographs has been his hobby since 1996.
He appears to run his own celebrity autograph business called All-Star Signatures LLC.
Thursday’s incident reportedly came after Poplawski asked Kanye for a second autograph after first approaching him outside Delilah.
Kanye had been at the popular West Hollywood nightclub with Julia Fox, 31, before moving to Soho Warehouse alone, where he was again approached by Justin according to Page Six.
EXCHANGE OF WORDS
The pair allegedly exchanged words, which are currently being investigated by police, before the rapper jumped out of his car, called Justin and then punched him to the ground.
Video of the incident shows Kanye yelling at a female member of his squad as the alleged victim lies on the ground.
He can be heard shouting “Get away from me” to which the employee responds “Give me your hand”.
Kanye reportedly left before authorities arrived at the scene, where a police report was filed.
It is not yet known if he has told the police about his side of the story.
Justin reportedly recorded the encounter on his phone, which was shown to police and will be included in the investigation.
According to TMZ, he reportedly refused medical treatment following the incident.
West was named by the LAPD as a suspect in a battery report following the incident, but no arrests have been made so far.
