Labour’s home-buying program is a ‘generous policy’

REA Group economist Angus Moore says Labour’s new home buying scheme is a ‘generous policy’.

“The program is not available to everyone, so it is limited to ten thousand places,” he told Sky News Australia.

“It’s means-tested…it’s a pretty generous policy, the way of thinking is the government owns 30% of your house, they’re 30% your landlord but they don’t charge you any rent on that fraction.

“For those who get it, it’s very generous.”
