Posing with the famous wax figures of Madame Tussauds Hollywood has long been a must-see for visitors to Tinseltown and locals looking for a lively outing with a starry dimension.
But few of the stars seen around the Hollywood Boulevard museum draw delighted crowds the way the Betty White figure has long done, which is, unsurprisingly, not surprising.
The always funny, deeply inspiring, animal-advocate icon passed away on December 31, at the age of 99, and local spots like Madame Tussauds are eager to pay a heartfelt tribute, while also helping a cause Ms. White liked it so much: Helping the Los Zoo d’Angeles.
This tribute will arrive on January 17, on the occasion of the star’s 100th birthday.
And everyone is invited to stop by, donate, and take a cute snap with the Betty White action figure, which features the star in a hot pink tracksuit.
Oh yeah: And the figure based on the favorite comedy is a smiley face, of course, that’s how fans will always remember her.
All proceeds will be donated to the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
Important to know?
The wax figure will be placed in the lobby of the museum for the special event. If you’d like to enter and see the rest of the museum, it pays off, while the photos with Betty’s pink tracksuit will pay homage on January 17.
There’s a tasty element to the celebration too: Pink’s Hot Dogs will be on hand to serve the Betty White Naked Hot Dog, a staple on the menu without condiments since 2010.
Your donation will also bring you one of these famous Frankfurt sausages, in addition to the possibility of taking a photo. (The original Pink’s, on La Brea Avenue, just wrapped up a 9-day fundraiser for the LA Zoo on January 9, with all proceeds from the Betty White Naked Hot Dog going to the animal park.)
What if you’re at Madame Tussauds Hollywood at noon on January 17th?
Do not hesitate to join in the celebratory song, the lyrics of which you surely know (if you know a certain show by heart).
The choice of the happy song? It’s “Thank You for Being a Friend,” the theme song for “The Golden Girls,” the spirited and sassy sitcom forever associated with the fiery, sassy and spectacular star.
