Thor: Love and Thunder
Marvel Studios has confirmed that the full trailer for Taika Waititi’s “Thor: Love and Thunder” is set to arrive online Monday night during Game 4 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals which begins at 8:30 p.m. US-EST on ABC. [Source: Twitter]

This Christmas
“Ron’s Gone Wrong” Locksmith Animation and DNEG Animation reunite for “That Christmas” based on a series of Richard Curtis children’s books that explores what happens when Christmas traditions are upended and chaos brings the family together. DreamWorks veteran Simon Otto is directing from a script by Curtis and Peter Souter. [Source: Collider]

The Chimera
Neon has acquired the North American rights to “La Chimera” by Italian author Alice Rohrwacher starring Josh O’Connor, Isabella Rossellini, Carol Duarte, Alba Rohrwacher and Vincenzo Nemolato.

The film is set in the 1980s in the underground world of tombaroli (grave robbers) and tells the story of a young English archaeologist (O’Connor) caught up in the illegal trafficking of ancient finds. Filming is underway in Tarquinia, Tuscany, Central Italy and Switzerland. [Source: THR]

Nicholas Sparks
Nicholas Sparks, author of ‘The Notebook’ and ‘A Walk to Remember’, has signed a first production deal with Universal Pictures to produce three feature films.

The films will be based on some of his more recent novels including “The Wish” which deals with first love. Zack Hayden will produce this. [Source: Collider]

After allowing streaming qualification during the pandemic, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has now announced that films attempting to qualify for the Oscars must hit theaters again.

The six US metropolitan areas eligible for a one-week release are still Los Angeles County, New York, the Bay Area, Chicago, Miami and Atlanta. The 2023 Oscar nominations will be revealed on January 24, 2023 ahead of the March 12 ceremony. [Source: The Playlist]
