Palaszczuk attacks Morrison for ‘dividing Australia during the pandemic’

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has denounced Prime Minister Scott Morrison for dividing the country during the pandemic – despite closing state borders herself.

Ms Palaszczcuk has locked down the rest of the country for nearly two years and only repealed the latest domestic restrictions in December.

She made the comments at a press conference on Monday while endorsing Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese, saying Prime Minister Scott Morrison “had a golden opportunity to unite” and instead became divided.

“The Prime Minister of this country had a golden opportunity to unite this country and during a pandemic he chose to divide, he chose to attack Queensland, to attack Victoria and to attack WA,” she said.

“Now is the time for us to unite the country and the man to do it is Anthony Albanese.”
