ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (CBS) — A portion of the Atlantic City boardwalk will be rebuilt thanks in part to a federal grant. The US Economic Development Authority awarded the city $6 million.
The mayor’s office says the city is considering replacing a section of the boardwalk that is over 100 years old.

The project is estimated at $60 million.

“Six million won’t do it all, but it’s a start and it’s costing the people of Atlantic City nothing,” said Mayor Marty Small Jr.
Funding came from the American Rescue Plan.

The city also announced funding for street repaving projects and the preservation of a historic fire station.
