RCMP investigate targeted shooting in Coquitlam

Officers arrived around 9:15 p.m. Friday to find a man with gunshot wounds. The victim, known to police, was taken to hospital in serious condition.

Coquitlam RCMP were at the scene late Friday night investigating a shooting in the 1000 block of Austin Avenue.

Officers arrived around 9:15 p.m. to find a man with gunshot wounds. The victim, known to police, was taken to hospital in serious condition.

In a statement, Coquitlam Master Sgt. Paul Vadik said the RCMP suspected the shooting was targeted. The suspects in the shooting have not been located and it is unclear if the shooting is related to the Lower Mainland gang conflict.
