Manchester United have reached an agreement with Barcelona player Frenkie de Jong to acquire his services during the current summer transfer season.
The Red Devils are looking to strengthen the midfield position in the summer transfer window this year, notably with the departure of Frenchman Paul Pogba when his contract expires on June 30.
Manchester United have expressed a strong desire to sign Frenkie de Jong, who has been linked with leaving Barcelona, since the end of last season.
And Manchester United have been trying to reach an agreement with Barcelona over the past few days over the financial fee of the deal, but that hasn’t happened so far.
Nevertheless, journalist Nicolas Scheria says Manchester United have managed to reach an agreement with De Jong on the personal terms of his upcoming move to Old Trafford.

He said that the agreement between the two parties stipulates that the Dutch midfielder will sign a contract which will be valid for 5 years.
He pointed out that there are currently advanced talks between Manchester United and Barcelona over the De Jong deal, knowing that the English side’s current offer is estimated at €70m.
