- Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 5 beta to some Galaxy S22 users in the US.
- This is the Android 13 version of Samsung’s UI overlay.
- It is unclear which US carriers are part of the deployment
Samsung’s UI overlay version update of Android 13 is currently only rolling out to a very limited number of Galaxy S22 phone models. There’s no word yet on which US wireless carriers will make the beta available to users. This beta was made available well ahead of the planned official launch of Android 13, which currently appears to be happening in September.
9to5Google also posted a screenshot of the long and detailed One UI 5 beta changelog. Many beta features are available in Android 13, but many are also specific to Samsung phones. This includes faster access to Samsung’s Bixby digital assistant, as well as Bixby Routines, which help automate smartphone tasks.
If you own a Galaxy S22 phone and want to be considered for the beta test, you must first download the Samsung Members app. Then follow the registration process “Register for the One UI Beta Program”. Then all you have to do is wait for the beta to roll out to your phone. Besides Germany and the United States, the beta will be available in China, India, Poland, South Korea and the United Kingdom. It’s unclear when One UI 5 will be generally available for supported Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
