Shanghai adjusts Corona test conditions

A Shanghai official said on Sunday that the Chinese financial center will relax COVID-19 testing requirements from June 1 for those who wish to enter public places or use public transport to encourage the return to work and a back to normal life.

From June 1, those who enter public places or take public transport will be required to show a negative result for a corona test taken within 72 hours, up from 48 hours previously, the Shanghai government spokeswoman said, Yin Xin, during a press briefing. There will be no changes to testing for those who want to leave town.

The city announced 93 new asymptomatic cases of coronavirus, down from 131 the day before, while symptomatic infections also fell from 39 to 29.

And a new infection was recorded outside the quarantine zones, unchanged from the previous day.
Shanghai reported no COVID-19-related deaths on Saturday, unchanged from the previous day.
