Snow White Lake Effect in Oswego

Lake effect snow hit Oswego, New York on Monday, January 10, creating whiteout conditions in the area. The National Weather Service reported snowfall rates of up to two inches per hour and “visibility reduced to less than a quarter of a mile” in Oswego County, which borders Lake Ontario. Video filmed by Oswego State meteorology student Garrett Statum shows snow conditions in the town of Oswego and on campus, where he recorded four inches of snow around 11 a.m. local time .
