Sunny and warm for Memorial Day with near record highs expected Tuesday in New York

WHAT’S UP: A fantastic Memorial Day Monday with highs close to 90 away from the water. Lots of sun again.

AND AFTER: Near record highs on Tuesday. Foggy, hot and humid feeling for a single day. Cooler Wednesday.

Storm Watch Team meteorologist Allan Nosoff said Monday will be warm with highs near 90 degrees.

REMEMBRANCE DAY : Fairly sunny and very hot. Perfect barbecue time. Moderate risk of rip currents. Highs near 87, 70 on the immediate coast. Humid night, low at 74.

TUESDAY – HEAT ALERT: Foggy hot and humid with lots of sunshine. Peaks up to 95 (the record is 96 since 1939). Feeling like close to 100, 80 on the immediate coast. Chilling overnight to near 68.

WEDNESDAY: Sun and clouds, cooler behind a backdoor cold front. Highs struggling to reach 80, could be even cooler. A few showers possible overnight. Down to 63.

THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and a thunderstorm in the afternoon. Highs near 82. Lows at 64.

FRIDAY: Morning clouds, isolated showers early. Otherwise, becoming sunny. Highs near 77. Lows at 59.

NEXT WEEKEND: Not bad. Comfortable conditions with sun and 70s for the peaks. Lows close to 60.
