The Amtrak Cascades train might be delayed, but it’s not the only way to visit our neighbors to the north. In fact, there is an affordable bus service that you may not know about. It’s called FlixBus and it can take you to Vancouver for the price of lunch.
FlixBus is a new bus service offering routes across the United States and also to Vancouver. If it sounds a lot like Greyhound, that’s because FlixBus actually acquired the transit company in October 2021. Not only that, but it’s the largest long-distance bus network in Europe and that means that they know what they are doing.

Buses run daily with trips to Vancouver departing at 7:30am. This is a trip of just over 4 hours, so you can expect to arrive in beautiful British Columbia around noon and enjoy a full day. Best of all, one-way ticket prices start at $11.99. That being said, most ticket prices on the website are currently $17.99, which is still a bargain.
Tickets can be purchased on the FlixBus website and if you wanted to visit Vancouver, now you have one more reason. With that, enjoy and happy travels!
