Top 10 two-wheeler exports March 2022

Compared to March 2022, exports in the corresponding period last year were 3,55,230 units. In the top 10, only five two-wheelers have positive annual growth. Bajaj has four bikes in the top ten, while TVS has three. Hero MotoCorp has two and Yamaha has FZ in the top 10.

Boxer continues to be a bestseller in international markets. It was popular here too, but was phased out as Pulsar motorcycles began to gain prominence. Boxer has similar qualities to Pulsar in that it is capable of delivering powerful performance and can withstand heavy use. Africa is one of the biggest markets for the Boxer motorcycle.

Top 10 two-wheeler exports March 2022 – Boxer leads

Boxer exports in March 2022 were 90,016 units. Year-on-year growth is up 7.43%, compared to 83,788 units exported in March last year. The percentage share in exports is 25.63%.

At numbers two and three on the list are Star City 125 and Star City. Exports amount to 35,206 units and 32,785 units respectively. Both motorcycles recorded negative year-on-year growth in March 2022. The number of Star City 125s is down -1.49%, compared to 35,737 units exported in March last year. The percentage share in exports is 10.02%. Star City’s annual growth is down -0.56%, compared to 32,970 units exported in March last year. The percentage share in exports is 9.33%.

Pulsar is fourth on the list with exports of 22,648 units in March 2022. Year-on-year growth is down -13.74%, compared to 26,256 units exported in March last year. The share of exports is 6.45%. After the launch of the Pulsar 250cc motorcycles, Bajaj is working on updating the entire Pulsar range. Among the changes will be updated engines, with an architecture similar to that used with N250 and F250. Updated Pulsar bikes will also get cosmetic upgrades and new features.

At number five is Bajaj CT with exports of 15,360 units in March. Year-on-year growth improved by 8.05%, compared to 14,216 units exported in March last year. The percentage share in exports is 4.37%.

Hunk sees strong growth

Placed at number seven on the list, Hero Hunk exported 11,267 units in March. Year-on-year growth jumped 317.14 percent from 2,701 units exported in March last year. The percentage share in exports is 3.21%. The other Hero bike on the list is Splendor, placed in 10th place. Exports were 8,913 units in March. The year-on-year growth is 25.43%, compared to 7,106 units exported in March last year. The share of exports is 2.54%.

Yamaha FZ ranks 6th, with exports of 13,670 units in March. The year-on-year growth is 4.62%, compared to 13,066 units exported in March last year. The share of exports is 3.89%. Discover and Apache are respectively in 8th and 9th position. Both of these have negative annual growth in March 2022. The exports of Discover and Apache are 10,616 units and 10,337 units respectively.
