We tried Poppy and Ted dog harnesses which have a cult Instagram following of 142k – Bethan Shufflebotham

Treats, check. Necklace, check. Poo bags, check. Sleek poo bag holder, check. Totally adorable rescue dog, check. All that’s missing is a gorgeous matching harness and leash set of Instagram-famous Poppy and Ted.

Launched in 2018, Poppy and Ted is a pet accessories brand inspired by founder Paige Gillard’s new French Bulldog puppy, Ted. And what started as a stampede from his kitchen table has grown into an empire with a shiny new unit, seven employees and two dogs – “barking” chef Ted and his hairy sister Margot.

If you’re wondering where ‘Poppy’ comes in, he’s Ted’s human best friend and cousin, three-year-old Poppy. Paige, who recently gave birth to her first child, Harlow, said: “Together they love nothing more than hanging out, taking walks and of course taking naps together.”

Poppy and Ted is a brand that most pet owners have heard of, or at least seen a dog wearing at the dog park. I spot them absolutely everywhere, from groomers to vacations, and now we have our own accessories.

The brand is extremely stylish with collars, leashes and harnesses in beautiful, fun designs, earning them 142,000 Instagram followers over the past four years.

New for 2022, Poppy and Ted launched their new collection with a range of bold designs, including this Flower Power harness modeled by my seven-year-old Staffy-crosser, Phoebe.

All harnesses are available in five sizes with a simple guide to measuring your dog to get the right fit. Phoebe and Frank both needed big ones, and the adjustable design means you can fit them like a glove.

Phoebe’s harness is light peach with a pink and orange smiley flower design, made of durable polyester and padded for comfort. It was really easy to put on and take off, no faffing with straps and multiple clips – it just slips over the head and clips into place at the back.

Harnesses are priced at £24.99, but some are on sale for as low as £7.99 for older, but equally cute, models. Frank is wearing the Khaki Wild Leopard, and I love how the green color looks on his fur.

The breathable liner is great for dogs that like to run, and we found them comfortable to wear without restricting shoulder movement. And for mucky pups, owners will be happy to know they’re machine washable at 30 degrees and dry quickly, so you won’t have to wait too long for the next adventure.

And if you want to complete the look with a matching set, you can get matching collars, leashes, bow ties and bandanas, or mix and match patterns and colors for a combination as unique as your pet.

And because Poppy and Ted turned four last month, they’re offering great discounts to shoppers through May 31. During checkout, customers can spin the wheel for a surprise discount, from free shipping to 10% off.

In addition, 40 lucky customers who place an order before May 30 could receive a golden ticket inside their package, redeemable for a free harness or collar. You can choose from a wide selection of designs ranging from pretty florals like Phoebe to leopard prints like Frank, all to suit you and your dog’s style.
